Yes, an LPC Associate can request a copy of their file. Supervisors should maintain accurate records and provide copies when asked.
If the required supervised experience hours are not completed on time, the LPC Associate must reapply for licensure and meet all the current requirements in effect at the time of reapplication. Any experience hours already completed will carry over and count toward the new license. Associates should ensure the board approved supervisor submits the Supervised Experience Documentation Form.
If a supervisor believes that an LPC Associate may lack the necessary counseling skills or competence, the supervisor must create and implement a remediation plan. This plan must be reviewed and signed by the LPC Associate and kept in their supervision file. The documentation does not need to be submitted to the Board unless the supervisor is submitting the Supervised Experience Documentation/Upgrade Form.
