General FAQ’s
You must submit your name change through the BHEC Online Licensing System.
Before submitting your request: Log in to your online licensing account. Select the option to submit a Name Change Request. Upload supporting legal documentation (such as a marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order) as instructed.
For step-by-step instructions, see the How To Submit an Online Name Change Request guide.
To update your address: Log in to the BHEC Online Licensing System. Update your main address, business address, email address, or phone number as needed. Save your changes.
Important: Your main address is where BHEC sends official correspondence. If your main address is your home address, you may designate it as a home address in the online licensing system to limit what appears in the public license search. You may also add a separate business address that will appear publicly if you wish to provide a professional contact location. For detailed instructions, see the How To Change Your Address guide.
You can update your email address through the BHEC Online Licensing System.
To change your email address: Log in to your online licensing account. Access your account profile. Update your email address and save your changes.
Keeping your email address current ensures you receive renewal reminders, application updates, and other official communications from BHEC.
You can request replacement licensing documents through the BHEC Online Licensing System. Available options are: Replacement Wallet Card/Permit, Printable Wall Certificate (free), and Calligraphy Wall Certificate
Log in to your online licensing account and select the appropriate request.
Step-by-step instructions are available in the following user guides: How To Request A Renewal Card/Permit, How to Request a Free Printable Wall Certificate, and How to Order a Calligraphy Wall Certificate.
If you no longer intend to practice and do not wish to continue renewing your license, you may request Retired status through the BHEC Online Licensing System.
To request retired status: Log in to your online licensing account. From the Manage Your License Information menu, select Set License to Retired. Follow the prompts to submit your request.
A retired license is no longer considered a current, renewable license. If you later wish to return to practice, you must apply for reinstatement and meet all applicable reinstatement requirements.
See the How To Request "Retired" Status user guide for detailed instructions.
