Contact Form

Please describe the subject of your question or request and select the program/topic from the dropdown menu below that best describes the nature of your email. Please be sure to indicate in the subject line of the email whether your communication is urgent in nature.

Applicants must wait at least six weeks after submitting a license application before requesting information on the status of the application.

Our goal is to respond to urgent or time sensitive matters as quickly as possible, and to respond to routine or non-urgent matters within one week. Response times may vary however due to the volume of calls and emails received, the nature of the inquiry, the need for further research or review, employee absences, and other agency priorities.

Other ways to contact the Council

The Council is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., but closed on state holidays. Items may be mailed to the address below, and telephone calls will be answered by the Council’s customer service representatives during normal business hours.

While Council staff attempt to be responsive to telephone calls and inquiries, due to a heavy call volume and limited time and resources, the best method for contacting staff is via email. Licensees and members of the public are encouraged to contact staff via email for matters which are routine or not time sensitive, but are welcome to contact staff via telephone for matters requiring immediate attention.

In the event you are unable to speak with a particular staff member via telephone about a time sensitive matter, you are encouraged to leave a voicemail or email your question or concern instead. Please provide your name, phone number, and email address to help staff respond quickly. Additionally, please do not leave a message with or send emails to multiple staff, since staff may not know when another staff member has responded to your issue.

Electronic Delivery of Transcripts to Licensing Division

Transcripts must be received by the Council directly from the awarding institution, a transcript or credential delivery service, or a credentials bank that utilizes primary source verification. To help ensure the transcripts received are associated with an applicant’s file, transcripts may be delivered by email to Transcripts@bhec.texas.gov. Only emails containing transcripts are permitted at this address. Questions, requests for information, or other application materials sent to this email address will be deleted without a response.

Electronic Delivery of Certified NPDB Self-Query Reports to Licensing Division

In lieu of submitting your self-query report from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) by mail, you may submit a certified self-query report by email to NPDB@bhec.texas.gov.  Only emails containing certified self-query reports will be accepted at this address.  Questions, requests for information, or other application materials sent to this email address will be deleted without a response.

Reports submitted by email must be certified self-query reports, i.e., a PDF that ensures the self-query is exactly as it was issued by the NPDB.  Scanned printouts of certified self-query reports will not be accepted.

Planned System Outage – Online Licensing Unavailable

Please be advised that the Council’s online licensing system will be unavailable on May 1, 2026, from 12:00 AM to 1:00 AM (CDT) due to a scheduled maintenance window for SnapPay, the State of Texas’ payment portal used to process online transactions.

During this time, you will not be able to submit applications, renew licenses, or make any payments through the system.

This outage is particularly important given that a high volume of licensees typically attempt to complete renewals at the end of the month. If your license is set to expire on April 30, 2026, you are strongly encouraged to complete your renewal in advance of the outage to avoid any interruption in licensure status.

Please note:

  • Late renewals caused by attempting to transact during the outage will not result in a waiver of late fees.
  • The system will resume normal operations after the maintenance window concludes at 1:00 AM CDT on May 1.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and encourage you to plan accordingly to avoid any disruption.
